Why do I call it babysitting?

hahaha I have no idea, it’s my own kid so I should say parenting, but it was one of my first times taking care of the baby completely by myself. It was a fun day and having seen my kid grow up so quickly has been quite amazing.

Does he cry a lot?

He almost never cries … until I try to make him fall asleep. However, I always find a new way to make him stop crying and to make him fall asleep. The trick is to not give up and look for hints your baby gives on what he likes and what not. In the beginning holding him in my arms was enough to make him fall asleep.

After some months I had to hold him sideways next to me and he fell asleep. Then came the crying and more difficult periods where I would hold him and try so he can”t move, he would cry for some minutes and fall asleep.

Then I tried singing, which worked, but only when I made the sound of the background music of some of the games I played like Archlord, Lotro, and some others. Nowadays I use that together with making sounds to make him laugh whilst I am holding him. We also have stars in the bedroom now which glow in the dark, this makes him calm more easily when I hold him to make him fall asleep.

Babies, do I recommend having one?

Absolutely, It is one of the biggest joys that I had the luck of experiencing. We are already planning on having a second one, which will have to wait because I first want to have some more stability in my current situation.

All by all, babies/kids can be a pain, especially as when I am writing this article, my kid pressed the off button on my pc 3 times. But they also give a lot of happiness and seeing them grow up and learn is so rewarding. Recently he started walking so he will be able to get into even more closets, how exciting!
