I went on on of their normal guides when I visited Japan for the first time and it’s one of the best ways to learn more about Japan and it’s history in a quick, interesting and engaging way whilst strolling through the city of nara.

Nara?

Nara is the most favorite place for me in Japan. It really feels like the countryside and with all the hiking routes around Nara city and the nice environment for strolling … basically the ideal place for me to have a trip or a day trip. I really enjoy sitting in Nara park to see people getting attacked by deer, or to hike up the mountain, or enjoy the sake tasting, or visit one of the many free museums.

Nara really shows the best of Japan, I haven’t even talked about all the temples and shrines you can also visit there. If you can ever go to Nara, then I would advise you to stay at Ryokan Mikasa Nara. A very nice place with very friendly staff and they even have an Onsen! Their breakfast and dinner is also very delicious, but maybe a bit too much. Also it is typical Japanese food so for foreigners … good luck! Some of the things I still struggle eating hahah.
